Eye on Style: Mackenzie Dayle

We recently had the chance to sit down and hang out with Edmonton’s rising pop star Mackenzie Dayle before she headed back to her new home of Los Angeles, California. Read more about Mackenzie and her plans of taking over the charts in our interview below!

Hi there! Tell us your name.
Mackenzie Dayle.

What’s your Twitter handle?
@Mackenziedayle

Tell us about yourself.
I am a dancer and most importantly, I am a very accomplished pop singer/songwriter. I most recently won the Hot 107 HotFactor contest and I am currently working with the incredible Kent Speakman and Wendy Starland!

How would you describe your personal style?
A mix of everything. When I am not onstage, I try to have a simple and feminine wardrobe. Nothing too over the top because when I am onstage I have my alter ego and her style take over during that time that she’s out there being loud and vibrant with my audience!

If you could steal a celebrities style, who would it be?
Lady Gaga, of course! She has such an eclectic wardrobe. One day she can be dressed up wearing the most ostentatious outfit whether she is on stage or off, then next day just wearing jeans and tee shirt. I also love Karlie Kloss’ style. She always looks so put together whenever she styles herself. She can go from very girlie, to tomboy and still make it work with her frame and flare!

How many pairs of sunglasses do you own?
Oh man, so many pairs! I can’t really keep a count of them. Let’s say 10.

What is your favourite sunglass trend right now?
I love the Ray-Ban Wayfarer because it’s a classic frame that’s been around for quite some time. It’s the kind of sunglass frame that you can wear dressing up or dressing down, for any occasion. I also love the cat eye sunglasses frame, because it really adds that little pop, rather point to your frame!

What is your favourite part about Edmonton?
I recently moved to Los Angeles, when I come back home to visit my family and friends it’s always such a treat to go and see them. I miss them so much when I am away! I also like to visit my favourite spots. Whyte Ave is one of my go-to because it’s such a vibrant location. There’s music, food, arts and culture all in that neighbourhood which I love! I also like this new restaurant down 124th Street called Solstice. The food and atmosphere at Solstice is incredible!
